NEW YORK | Central Park Tower (217 W 57th St.) | 1,550 FT | 131 FLOORS

One57 is ugly from most angles. What’s bizarre about Portzamparc is that he had another (pretty nice design) project on 57th Street, the LVMH tower. But Gary B probably fell in love with him over the hotel in Paris at bottom.

His building on Park Avenue South near Madison Square Park is great as well, which makes One57 all the more disappointing.

In 2 floors it will pass 432 Park

We can confidently say the North, west and east views of midtown are changed drastically. The south view of midtown needs more though.

looks like some of that heavy wet snow got caught in the netting.

220 CPS looks a lot more elegant without the construction equipment hanging off of it.

Peeking through:

Similar shot by Tec!

im glad they significantly refined the design. This would have been a huge letdown by AS+GG

That would have been like another 432 Park.

Just makes me appreciate what we got now more.

it will be weird seeing it without the bright blue protection on the glass

You know, I feel like half and half towers between Central Park Tower & One World Trade Center in NYC for example:

Central Park Tower (1,550 feet) First tallest building NYC with Top floors
One World Trade Center (1,368 feet) Second tallest building NYC with Top floor (Without Antenna/ mast)

One World Trade Center (1,776 feet) First tallest building NYC with Antenna/mast
Central Park Tower (1,550 feet) Second tallest building NYC (No Antenna/mast)

I’m getting anxious for this to top out, can’t wait!
