That is an epic shot! Love it.
The wierd green panels- i assume that is where the stonework will go similar to 10hy?
The tower recently crossed 800’ mark, 500’ more to go.

I work for Gunderlin LTD in the Miami, FL area and have been working with Otis Elevator on the 60 plus cab interiors and the 800 plus hallway entrances for the past 18 months now. It’s been great to see the construction progress via this site. Thank you to all the guys/gals in NYC that post the photos. Soupy
That’s pretty cool. Can you post some pics of the work you do?
Almost above 10 HY!
From the Lincoln Tunnel helix in NJ, goodbye ESB:(
That was one of my concerns when the hudson yards project started also. While the ESB is certainly obstructed from a direct angle like this, it’s still very visible from almost every other perspective.
I’m gonna get some shit for this, but I think that the HY is going to be the next Empire State Building. Its just so beautiful and innovative, and will be a New York landmark for generations
I agree. One Vanderbilt could be too.
Teacher, Can I change my answer?
I think One Vanderbilt would be a better choice for the new ESB
No, I think you’re right. Tall, observation deck (unfortunately enclosed), spire…its got it! A new landmark
Is 1 Vanderbilt going to have on observation deck too?
Yup, and I think we should carry this on the One Vanderbilt forum, we’re a bit off topic
