Prive Gets The Green Light, Will Build 2nd Sidewalk

Prive, the twin towers going on a dramatically located island in the center of Dumfoundling Bay, has prevailed in its battle over the 2nd sidewalk that doesn’t exist on the island next door that is crossed when approaching Prive. Or, it doesn’t exist yet, we should say, but it will. The developers have gotten approval to build the sidewalk from the City of Aventura, an approval that was required to build their project.

Privé construction to start next month

The developers of the Privé condominium in Aventura received final site plan approval from the city and plan to start construction next month.

Developers BH3 and a Gary Cohen affiliate company plan to build twin 16-story towers totaling 160 units on the eight-acre North Island located between Williams Island and Sunny Isles Beach. They received a city permit to install a second sidewalk near the island project site last month. The lack of a sidewalk was a point of contention in at least one of two lawsuits challenging the project’s development rights.

Architecture firm Sieger Suarez designed the buildings. Units range from 2,585 square feet to more than 9,000 square feet in select penthouses. Amenities include a 10,000 square foot gym and spa in each tower, a poolside café, a tennis court, two pools, a marina and 24-hour gated and roving security for the island.

“This is a major achievement for us in bringing the project to fruition and we are grateful to the City of Aventura and its officials for their support of our efforts,” Gary Cohen said in a written statement. “We are looking forward to breaking ground and meeting our projected completion date of Summer 2016.”

Under construction. Its the two towers on that small island. Also, awesome helicopter ride The region you see is Sunny Isles. Its 25 miles from downtown Miami. Miami is one of those places that has towers all over its suburbs, some 50 plus miles away in some cases, and inland too as well as the obvious coast.

This is bonkers and fantastic but also a bit LOL-worthy in light of Miami’s… delicate situation!
