After a nearly five-year delay, a $350 million mixed-use development in Jersey City is slated to break ground in the next few months. The Real Deal reports that the Jersey City Municipal Council and Planning Board approved plans back in December. Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman + Associates Architects will design the two 50-story towers at 70 and 90 Columbus Street. The 1.2 million-square-foot development, a joint venture by Ironstate Development and Panepinto Properties, will consist of a 150-room hotel and approximately 1,000 rental apartments in addition to retail space.

Taken 6/12. Hotel has reached full height and they are finishing up the facade now. Also they have started to move some earth near the pilings that were places over a month ago for the 2nd tower. Hopefully construction will start soon. I still dont love the look of these towers or the hotel but it is decent filler.

Today

Not much progress on the hotel facade. But 90 columbus was very active today- excavating around all those pilings must be a pain in the ass.

#13

Today was extremely active in the hotel but the main site of the next tower seemed real quiet today. But still made progress since the last update.

Lots of progress since last time but no action yesterday. Im wondering if this, 99 hudson, and the next stage of morgan all need to get inspected and new permits for the superstructures before they can proceed at this point? They were all quiet yesterday and all look like they are ready to go vertical at the same time. Which will make jc even more exciting to watch in the near future.

This one is rising fast now. Not long before we have another 50 story tower in jc.

Also, signage is up for the smaller hotel section.
